Known as &#8220;Canada&#8217;s Sweetheart,\u201d she is the only Canadian to have won the&nbsp;Olympic ladies&#8217; singles gold medal, the first North American to have won three major titles in one year and the only Canadian to have won the&nbsp;European Championship&nbsp;(1947\u201348).<\/em>&#8220;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ice skating rink at Nathan Phillips Square at Toronto City Hall<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Besides the skating rink, you can also see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Toronto_Sign\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">illuminated 3D Toronto sign<\/a>, with the 2023 art: Rekindle, designed by Toronto-based artist Joseph Sagaj.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The western side of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Old_City_Hall_(Toronto)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Toronto&#8217;s Old City<\/a> hall built in 1899, designed by Toronto architect Edward James Lennox.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Original music<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The music is an exploration of a simple progression between C major, Csus2, and Csus4 chords. A custom Python script generated a midi file, which was then processed in Garage Band to change the voices, and add an autogenerated drum track.
