Historic photos from around Davisville Village, Toronto

John Davis founded Davisville Village in 1840 - he opened the first post office on the corner of Yonge and Davisville (which still stands today) and also started the Davisville Pottery Company. He sold a large portion of his land in 1911 to the Dovercourt Development Company which built many houses in the area in the 1920s and 1930s.

Davisville Village is between Chaplain Estates to the west and Leaside to the east, north of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, and south of Yonge and Eglinton and North Toronto.
